I'll be leaving tomorrow morning around 11:30, so you can all think of me as I fly for 25 1/2 hours across the world. I'm a little nervous about the length of the plane ride, but I'm sure it'll work out fine. I'll do my best to update after we arrive in Nepal when time permits.

Taylor,
I just read your very descriptive and interesting blog note - you really do write well, I found your trip very interesting. Especially the dogs and chickens . Let me know when you publish so I can read your first novel!
We are so glad you arrived safely.
------------------------------------------------------- next is my real "first note from a couple days ago.----------------
Good day to you. I am writing this on Sunday as you continue onward in your journey. I am sure there are many and varying emotions just flooding thru your mental system at times during this journey.
I have experienced them myself when I was a bit older than you are now and I can relate to them. My first journey across the ocean to Okinawa and Guam; my first trip to Taiwan, my initial flight into Vietnam. These were all trips by myself, no Air Force work companions with me. I guess the very worst was my first night in basic training after joining the Air Force and spending four days and three nights crossing America to arrive in San Antonio, Texas from Providence, RI. That first night I lay in my bunk very low in morale and wondering just what had I gone and done!
But as you have found, or will, the apprehension is the unknown features associated with the journey. You will become enmeshed in the new and different things you have facing you and will become busy, interested and excited.
I envy you the journey and the task. It is a mind boggling thing you and all your companions are doing.. I wish you all the very best success and trust you will have the experience of a lifetime to build other new facets of your life. Stay safe and be happy.
Love
Granddad and Grandmother
